I love photographing a 6 month old baby session, while I can get very creative when shooting a 6 month old baby, my work reflects how simplicity, beautiful lighting, and a few subtle personal touches can make a memorable session.
At this age they are so sweet, smiley and have great little personalities, I love making them smile…playing peek-a-boo behind the camera, making silly faces and noises (usually a sneezing noise for some reason makes them chuckle!) having mum or dad make a silly sound or we all sing a favourite nursery rhyme.
This gorgeous little 6 month old baby girl from a portrait session in March at the studio was full of brilliant smiles during the session, every time I see these they make me smile, her look of delight is just lovely!
This is her 1st session of a total of 3 on our ‘Baby and Toddler Year Plan’, so I can’t wait to see her again soon for her next session!
When I’m photographing any baby, I always ask the parents what is the latest developmental milestone the baby has reached. This really helps me prepare for the session, we have a pre session consultation before we start, to have a chat this is to find out are they sitting, happy lying on their tummies etc as every baby is different and at 6 months old will have reached a slightly different development stage (there is no real ‘standard’ for development and what they can do) so we adjust every 6 month baby session to your little one’s needs.
